They got rid of the main reason for owning that car, IMHO.

Take out that engine, sell it and you've got a straight body ready for an OM617!

Wonder how much rust they fixed at the jacking points?

Kind of a neat car at that price, esp, if the body is solid.

They got rid of the ONLY reason I wouldn't own a W123.

How can it be all stock except the engine? What did they do with the SLS? I suspect they deleted it given the reference to new shocks and springs. They got rid of the best feature of the wagon.

If it was a 351 with fuel injection, I'd be interested. Carb, forget it. Don't want something that old and with a carb, it makes it worse. Had they put a 302 or something like that with a good FI system, it would be interesting to me. A decent step forward in power, to be honest but to leave it half way without going over to FI? No thanx. Everything I buy, if possible economically, will have FI.

That might be sufficient to get he a woody. So question, can the rear handle it?

Seller claims "V8 rear end" so probably W126/M117 diff? Maybe... no idea. Is the diff and rear suspension easily interchangeable with the W126?

If that thing had a 5 speed and I needed to replace my Volvo wagon I would be calling that guy right now. I already have a spare MS1 box looking for a good home.

In my 91 Firebird, I trashed the R&P several times. If it wasn't wrecked, I'd be with a Ford 9in. In my vette, I broke the D36 and replaced it with a D44. Point is, both cars came with a V8 rear end. The D36 and the 7.625in GM weren't up to snuff. With a 351 that is performance tuned, it should shred them both.
