Sounds like something a communist state would do. If this don't bankrupt us then the retirement payouts from this scheme will. Oh yea, that's right the government controls the printing press so they can't run out of money.

What amazes me is the inefficiency of the existing arrangement and they want to add more? Keep in mind I live in the rural south so it does not take much to amaze me

I have had this conversation before on other proposed government spending programs. Instead of the convoluted "make a few people rich" approach, just give the money straight to the people affected.

Here they call it a jobs bill, why not just hire all fifteen million unemployed people? Unemployment ended, they pretend.

For all of the money allegedly spent to solve the Israeli/Palestinian problem you could have just bought Palestine outright for cash and saved a bunch of money and a bunch of lives, pain and suffering. Not what they were after, they pretend.

Its not all that different than all the work programs they had in the 30's. Problem is a lot of people are lazy and NFW will they take a hand shovel and build a road no matter what you pay them.
