No, it is just the flavor of the week to remain at the top of all news stories until something more sordid comes along and they think it will sell for them.

My wife is a 16 yr educator...Chain of command is to report an incident to your superior. It stops there for her as an employee. If she asks about the situation later the response she gets is " we cant discuss details with you" even tho she reports the incident. If she contacts police and escalates the situation she potentially loses her job and becomes fully involved for "our" children to see.

My wife is also a high school cheerleading coach and judge that has been sued by parents about 10 yrs ago by parents of 3 girls that did not make the team. Because...They did not make the team!

She and I both agree neither one of us could have walked away from a visual incident but as far as JoPa goes he followed chain of command and his employers policy....

hmmmm

JoPa ruled Penn State. If he wanted action to be taken against Sandusky, it would have happened. Even if we give him the maximum benefit of the doubt and assume that he did all he could do with respect to the shower incident that McQueary told him about, JoPa can't explain why Sandusky was permitted to continue to associate himself with Penn State in connection with his boys' camps.

So Sandusky did the interview and denied everything other than "horsing around" and showering with boys. Uh, huh.

And now, two new cases are being reported...so there seem to be some victims that are still under 18.

And he's free on an unsecured 100K bond granted by a judge who used to work with the foundation he established and from which he selected some of his victims.

Are we sure this isn't Chicago?

This one is Worthy of a foil hat! You have no clue how media works. They cover these stories because it sells, generates viewership and therefore money. It has absolutely nothing to do with Obama unless you are in larryworld, where everything is orchestrated by evil liberals.

TRUE, but given that most people in the media vote democrat, its OK that it diverts attention from the President. That is not what DRIVES it, but its a happy by-product.

There have been studies to that effect, although I am not aware of any recent studies. The ones I recall were from a few years ago. I think they documented that an overwhelming majority of the people running the major media organizations tended to vote for Democrats. It wasn't even close, as I recall. Cable news and the internet have changed the media landscape in the past few years, so I don't know whether those studies still hold. My guess is that they do, for the most part.

The problem people run into, though, is when they assume that these Democratic voters skew their reporting to the left. The history of media reporting over the past few decades shows otherwise.

I actually agree that most are probably left leaning. I just hate blanket un knowable statements.

The writers and creative types tend to be left leaning, but it has not prevented them from being enablers of the right....especailly about the Iraq war.

The right wingers tend to own the news media and do influence the direction of the reporting.

So I guess those 8 years of stories while gwb was in the office was just a fluke?
