Hmmm. Not sure I'd move here if I had a choice about it. There's good points all right but overall I think there might be better places in the country to live all things considered.

I figured that out 22 years ago when I started my Business. The problem that I had was that I figured out that the workers I hired should make as much money as I did. That was a mistake in part, I was taken advantage of by some but not all of them. And 22 years later, I do ALL of the work myself.

With the billions and billions of rising mere INTEREST on the national debt, not to mention the principal and all the wasted money on wars and huge uncesaary and utterly wasteful government spending, the end can be prolonged by the Government printing more money, but it has not been backeded by Gold anymore for years and years;

Pretty soon as the goverment prints MORE and more dollars, eventually their value will go down, first abroad when other nations refuse to accept it as preferred currency.

When they Americans themselves finally "get it" and lose faith in its value, then the end will come fairly quickly.

First there will be bank runs, at first not bad because stocks of cash can be propped up by daily merchant receipts. But that won't take long to see it happen that they get swamped.

Then people will start storming Walmart and buy anything they CAN just to get RID of their increasingly worthless dollars.

THINGS not cash is what they will want. Clothes, batteries, canned food anything that is tangible and can be used consumed or bartered.

Currency will be PRECIOUS METALS. Gold will go to $5500 an ounce.
And pre-1965 US silver coins. And antique real silver and gold coins...

A MacDonalds hamburger will cost $50- $100 in US dollars. ANd rise to $300 in weeks or even days from that price in USD.

And the cost the gasoline will go sky high and the trucks will no longer be able to bring goods.

Food will be scarce. So will water. The power grids will go down.

Riots and Looting will start.

Anarchy will prevail ...

As personally distasteful as I will find it the FIRST thing I will buy is WEAPONS.

I am thinking AR15's, M4s, M1A's, AR10's, L1a1S, AND HKs.

And ammunition.

I know people of both persuasions who are employed AND unemployed.

It seems to me that what really makes the difference is how people approach their job environment.

I have very skilled friends that I know have pissed off job interviewers-- because they could.

On the other hand, there are very skilled people that don't know how to interview, or they have ISSUES. And they interview their way out of a job.

In the Army, I have hjelped certain people get civilian jobs because I knew they would be successful, they just needed an opening. On the other hand, I know others who talk themselves out of a job regularly, even when they already have it.

Whne my son gets out of college, he will have a hard time getting a job because he has skills but expects the employer to dance to his tune.

Since I'm not subsidizing him beyond food and possibly a room, I want him to see what he has lost by making disadvantageous choices that didn't take the future into account.

Looks like average salaries are heading down, and college grads are gonna have a tougher time paying off those loans. My oldest didn't finish school but now has a $40K restaurant job. He's doing better than many of his classmates who did finished college. I think the importance of a college degree will be diminished in the future, unless that degree is for succinct purpose and goal.
