Thanks, but the FNAR for some reason never really caught my eye.

For me FN firearms leave me hot or cold.

The 7.5 x 50 will cost you at large round count. You need to set up shop and load your own.

Stevens Favorite? My son still has mine. He can put out a rabbit's eye with it. I used to be able to.

If you get the eye to hold still and get close enough, I could too!

Remington. Man-sized stock. Little boy arms.

My other gun at that age was a Remington take down .410, also a single. We weren't allowed to move up in ga. or to a pump gun until we could consistently take down doves and quail with a ss .410. I think I was about 14 before I got that good.

Yeah? Hitting a quail of dove with a .410 ain't easy. My first scattergun was my Dad's .410 Marlin lever action. Somebody stole it.

Marlin lever actions are nice. I wonder how the .410 shell cycles. I'd take a Winchester lever action too, in the right caliber.

It cycled as well as the Marlin rifle. Downsides were that it wouldn't chamber the long shells and had a 2 shell limit (no plug) in the mag. It still killed a lot of squirrels!
