I have too many cars and need to piush a lot of heavy things around. I am now at the age where I get tired out pushing carts with engines on them all day long.

I'd rather save my energy for repairs and other things.

I need a power pusher.

Yesterday I looked at a fork lift that was the walk-behind type: would lift a 2200 lbs load 8 feet in the air. I thought about adding a container at the top and using it like a portable scaffolding for my building, to install conduit and insulation on the ceiling.. The problem: you had to push it by hand everywhere, it had no power capability.

I have heard you can build a power pusher using a large starter and the right gearing.

That seems very unlikely, but I'm game.

I have also looked at buying a golf cart and cutting it down, just using the batteries, controls and the driving axle.

Anyone got any ideas?

I did find a nice power pusher for 6,000, which is why I'm looking for something else. I'm game for modifying or building. Just need the ideas.

I don't want my obit to read: " found dead behind the cars he was pushing out of the way to get access to a garbage can."
