Fenway
I made my first visit to Fenway the other day. It's an amazing place. In honor of its 100th anniversary, I thought I would post the photo that best captures the essence of Fenway: Bucky Dent - 1978 Playoff Home Run Swing Fine-Art Print by Unknown at FulcrumGallery.com
All kidding aside, I don't think I have ever seen a stadium nicer than Fenway. |

Went to Wrigley last year for a Cubs game while there for a conference. It was on my Bucket List. It's on there again. ![]() These days I'm using Bucky's middle name for the Sox. ![]() EDIT: 3-1 Yanks, bottom of the 2nd. HR for Big Papi.

Do the Sox give a discount for an obstructed seat like that guy had? That would drive me crazy.
Camden Yards is a beautiful stadium. |

Honus, assuming you chose your alias for the baseball player, one of his cards just sold for $1,200,000:

I became a Honus Wagner fan upon reading "The Glory of Their Times," which is an excellent oral history of baseball around the turn of the last century. It's probably the best baseball book I've seen. It was written in 1966. The author traveled around interviewing all the old-time players before they died off. One of the main themes than ran though so many of the interviews is that Wagner was the most highly respected player of his era. He is known as the best shortstop ever, but he played all sorts of positions. Whatever position he played, he would be the best in the league at that position. He was also a good guy. Great book: Amazon.com: The Glory of Their Times: The Story of the Early Days of Baseball Told by the Men Who Played It (Harper Perennial Modern Classics) (9780061994715): Lawrence S. Ritter: Books |

It's hard to believe, but I can bring the whole family (wife & 4 kids) to Camden Yards and sit in comparable level seats for less than what it costs me and the two oldest kids to go to a game at Fenway. Throw in a room at the Holiday Inn Express in Baltimore and its about a wash. I guess that's why it turns into Fenway South when the Sox are in town. ![]() EDIT: No pitching makes for a frightening season.

Re-Edit: A-Rod passes Griffey Jr with 631 HR, Yankees lead 6-2, top of the 8th
Not been to Camden, but will get there someday. Might do that Chavez Ravine place this summer. |

If you're a baseball fan it is a must-see. It's a great atmosphere. Jacob's Field in Cleveland is a nice one as well. My father and I walked up to the box office and got box seats, 15 rows behind first base, for $30!

![]() ![]() I wish I could make it up there more than a couple times a year. Unfortunately the kids need to eat. ![]() Before the Sox won the Series in '04, I was in the tear the dump down camp. I'm glad things worked out the way they did. Especially now that they tore down Yankee Stadium. We usually go to a Yankee game a year with my FIL, who's been a fan since childhood. New Yankee Stadium is nice but it's just not the same. Granted, I can't squeeze my fat arse into the box seat. And you get a kink in your neck as your seat faces directly towards the Green Monster and you need to turn your head the whole game to watch anything in the infield. Here's my little man taking batting practice a couple years ago with Dave Madigan. ![]() I snapped this pic during the same game. I wonder if he appreciates the "quaintness"? ![]() ![]()

Sadly, it's looking more "SU" than "RO" in 2012.
