BTW, I hope you're speaking tongue in cheek, Obama never said the line you're attributing to him. It's a variation of something LBJ said about Cronkite, and a quick search shows it showing up as a supposed Obama quote on blogs that are several years old.

On the issue of Holder, I happen to agree with Stewart. Whether it hurts or not is debatable. I seriously doubt the machinations of Issa are on most voters' radar, and I also doubt most of them will make any decisions regarding who they'll vote for based on Fast and Furious OR Executive privilege. They didn't when Bush used it, why would they now?

On what basis do you conclude that a Stewart non-fan isn't aware that "it's not the first time he's nailed Obama for something"? Is there something in my post that implies this is the first and only time that blind squirrel has found a nut? Or has never found a nut before?

The conclusion that "Obama never said the line" is based on anything more than your search did not return any reporting of Obama speaking those exact words? Is every word spoken by Obama reported and findable via search? If Obama utters a sound that is not reported and not findable via searching the internet can everyone then conclude that that sound he made never occured? If a tree falls.........?

After viewing the clip of Stewart commentary your take-away and point of contention is; what I had assumed any adult would have recognised and understood was, a paraphrasing of LBJ's seminal and iconic reality check moment adapted to the present Obama adminstration circumstance? That such an obvious attempt at irony sent someone off in a flurry of search to disprove something so blatant and inconcequential had not been anticipated, for that I apologise.

No need to apologize. I see no "irony". Your original post says Obama has been heard making that particular statement. He hasn't, not by anyone who can actually attest that they heard it. You're using the old "can't prove he didn't say it" reasoning.
My only take away is as I originally wrote; he hasn't said what you claim he said, and Stewart has challenged him before. Your post is really no big deal. It appears you're digging real deep to find some reason why Obama is in trouble. Get a bigger shovel.

Obama according to virtually all the polling the trend lines are downward in every single demographic constituency across the board. There is a recent report from RealClear Politics that for the first time declares that there is mounting evidence Obama has lost the one constituency without which he can not win, white voters!

I'm sure they are very concerned. I also don't have a big problem with people getting some of their news from Stewart's comedy show. It's not as if they will get the full picture from "real" news shows. All they do is spout conventional "wisdom."
