Are Human Beings losing their intelligence?

Science says so Theory says humans losing intelligence - Technology & science - Science - LiveScience | NBC News

I agree. Biological pressure is for an individual to spread their genes the farthest. The race no longer goes to the intelligent and the productive, it goes to welfare bred hos and gangbangers who can work the system.

C. M. Cornbluth got it right more than fifty years ago in The Marching Morons. 300 years from now with the current rates of reproduction, society will consist of 99% idiots and 1% people who can think.

Now all you have to do to spread your genes the most in the US is screw anything with legs, vote for increased welfare spending, then sit back and collect.

In the US, most definitely.

I believe 80% of them are cognitively disabled.

Natural selection always favors fecundity over all else.

I have two colleagues (biologists) whose conversation I'll related as best I can. The one I label "F" is amazingly productive, literally hundreds of pubs to his name, devised several new analytical methods, etc. The one I label "J" is a middle-of-the-road scientist -- dependable but not creative or innovative.

"J": My oldest son had a great soccer weekend. Won a couple of games.
"F": My wife and I went bicycling and I worked on a paper and she sold a house.
J: I mowed the lawn and my wife had the night shift at the hospital.
F: If you arranged your life better you would be more productive. Kids often prevent scientists from reaching their full potential.
J: I have 4 kids by two wives and one grandchild. It keeps me busy.
F: I believe my success has been due to my not having children and staying focused on my job.
J: How do you define success?
F: Publications, citations, grad students.
J: And you claim to be a biologist?

(I could've blown coffee through my nose onto the windshield)

Reminds me about the old line about those who can--do, and those who can't --teach, ( or write).

Looking at Romney's popular vote count and his campaign based on lady parts, I'd agree too. Nearly half the voting public is stupid.

I don't know......... asking this question is pretty much redundant as the results are self evident.

I think this is mildly funny. I suspect that if I were smarter it'd be hilarious. I'm going to test this theory by telling this joke to some of my friends - thank you Botanist
