I feel extremely sorry for people just going about their business on both sides of the line. This being said, there are no angels in this war, and the US should keep their nose as far distant as is possible...

(I suppose attacking both sides and treating them like mongrels in a dog-fight might be a solution. Though I'd hate for either party to "bring the war" into NYC as thanks.)

al-Qaeda =/= PLO/PFLP/Hamas. A lot of the fractions there have been Marxist and left-leaning, not hard-line Islamist.

Anyway, there have been disgusting acts on both sides in that region. No angels there.

Which of the factions have not been hard-line Islamist? Virtually every organization allegedly representing "Palestinians" has direct roots, historical and ideological to the Muslim Brotherhood. The same Muslim Brotherhood that has declared it's singular purpose as jihad to impose a sharia compliant caliphate worldwide. The same Muslim Brotherhood that was formed in 1928 twenty years before the modern state of Israel existed. These Islamists have hated Jews, Christians, and any non-Muslim for decades before there was an Israel or any "Palestinian" cause.

True, and upon Marxist revolutionary principles. I think it's a mischaracterization to consider them "Islamist". In all their writings they appear quite secular. One big mistake we make in the U.S. is to think that all these groups are extremist Muslim. But it sure is convenient to look at it that way.

I'm guessing your hypothetical is somebody who has been convicted otherwise you would have used the word, 'accused'.

That's why we have courts martial.
