It was funny, while reading that article I found myself thing of the human male....."after mating with the female the male thinks....I feel good, I think I will spend more time with this female".

Yes...

...I haven't read the article - these things irritate me as they are often used as an excuse "I can't help it I've got the XXX gene" etc - but I guess there was no mention of rolling over and farting then?

Well, it is all part of "understanding", IOW, "Give me a pass". That is probably why people always ask for "understanding" since it is a much nicer way to ask for a pass. I'll bet that if they don't get a pass, nobody would ask for it. Much like asking for a mindfawk at a trial to explain why the perp did what he did. If there was no mitigating factor and he was given "help" AFTER sentencing, nobody would care, including the perp.
