The last year Chrysler, De Soto & Dodge offered wooden wheels was 1932; Plymouth offered them through '33.

Generally '32-'33 were the last years for wooden wheels, with makers offering choice of wire or pressed steel through '35-'36, and by '37-'38, everyone had gone to pressed steel.

What do you mean by wooden wheel heaps? Is it a heap of wheels or a heap of a car with wooden sheels, please?

I didn't realize it might be and I'm glad you brought this to me attention as I'm going to get on down to the dealer while there's still time.

There are 2 designs floating in my head:

A wagon-wheel style with no rubber, and a center cast iron attachment point.

Steel-backing plate with a wooden wheel pegged to it, with the end result looking like a modern "deep dish" alloy wheel, except made from wood.

How about a modern, safe, welded wheel that has been wood-grained to achieve the desired effect?
