Nope. It can't be overruled at all. The Session is over and everyone has been dismissed.

Gov. Perry recently did the same thing in Texas. Republicans held up a number of Bills (18 of them) until the last minute and they were presented to Perry for signing during the last hour of the session. All of the Bills had passed with enough votes to override Perry's veto.

So he vetoed the Bills and dismissed the Ledge.

And that was that! Eighteen Bills that had been passed by a wide margin of both the House and the Senate were vetoed and there is no way for the veto to be overridden. This way Republicans can say they voted for this or that and not have to mention that it was the Republican Governor that killed the Bill.

And during special sessions Perry has called no business can be conducted unless it is bought up by him, so again... No chance to override his vetos.

So... Is this type of behavior still a Scumbag thing to do or just a wise way for Republicans to control our lives despite what the elected members have voted on?

An excellent reason to have separate states with laws tailored to local sensibilities within the national constitutional framework.
