Theres two comments on the bottom from chrysler workers saying daimler ran chrysler into ground. I always thought they were already in the ground and daimler tried to do something with them and couldnt?

I don't think it was much of an attempt. Remember what was going on with M-B quality at that time? DIVE!!! They had their own huge mess to deal with.

Chrysler was actually doing pretty well under Bob Lutz's leadership during that era. While the Germans did plunder the company and sell the carcass to Bob "Home Depot" Nardelli, at least some of their influence ended up in my 2003 Ram- it was far superior in all aspects to the St. Louis built '95 that preceded it.

Sadly, the old guard craftsman at Mercedes Benz have either retired or died. Pre 1990 Mercedes were designed and manufactured differently than the new models. Although, it seems there has always been issues with regards to German car electrical wiring.
