Cars you once liked but don't now

What are some car models that you used to want or considered buying because you liked the design and styling, or because you thought it was capable of doing something, but now think look ridiculous?

For me two cars come to mind: The Hummer H2/H3 and the Smart car. Back when I was into the SUV look, I thought the H2 looked cool, especially in yellow . Now when I see one I think it looks ridiculous and toyish. Enviro-political views aside, they just don't look cool now. Back then it was one of those cars that I'd buy if I had money.

The Smart car I actually considered buying because I liked its somewhat quirky and novel design and the fact that I thought it had good mpg rating. Some further research showed that for its size and space sacrifices, the mpg rating is pretty bad. Plus, it's overpriced. Had used ones been cheaper I might just have bought one. Glad I didn't. They look stupid to me now Talk about looking like a toy.

I'd take the Smart Roadster or five, sadly they're not available in the US.

Since you brought it up - the Smart Car is probably one of the worst pieces of crap still sold in America. My Honda 550-Four MC had a larger battery than the stupid car does....and that's just the beginning.

I've driven one. As long as you don't drive it in ladyboy (read: fully autotragic) mode, it's actually fun to zip around in.

Yeah, I know... I was young, and I hadn't seen one in person. As time wore, though, I came to understand why Pontiac came to hand out vomit bags at every auto show that they brought the Aztec to.

Chevy Equinox...I liked the amount of space inside, but every owner that I know complains of squeaks, rattles, and the alignment going out too easily. My neighbor had a 2008 model, and a normal pothole, nothing too big, threw the alignment out.

Anything VW, I'd rather stick a hot nail into my eye than own a VW product.

When I was in high school, I thought the '67 Dodge Charger would be quite the item, 426 or 440. Mega torque baby. It looks like a gawd-awful heap now.

I had a 1982 Escort once. Worst-----car-----ever.

Some folks look at the cars I have owned and ask what is the most expensive car I have ever owned. I always tell them: The Ford Escort.
