Maybe so, but I have two close friends who had long relationships with other German manufacturers (not the car biz). Both said that German products are the very best, engineering wise. HOWEVER, they both told me that when it comes to marketing, dealer and customer support they kinda suck.

In my own life, I don't speak with many local benz owners, but when I do, they tend to have complaints about local dealer support. And, they aren't general complaints, they share specific issues which should have been addressed but weren't.

No, my friend was the head mechanic at the dealership and knew the owner well. The dealership owner was a German which was one reason MB tended to seek out his opinions.

Shedding "Old Man Image"

“Mercedes used to have an old man’s image because only old men could afford the cars,” said Philipp Wenz, a 19-year-old from a Frankfurt suburb who wants to be a pilot. “The new models are miles away from the vehicles Mercedes offered 10 years ago.”

David, Porch . . .Cayanne . . . auto correction?

never wrestle with Pigs for only two things will happen:

1. You will get muddy.

AMG version is modified AWD. Interesting comparison of the hatch vs the BMW 1 Series on the Chris Harris iDrive series on YouTube
