Unless I'm mistaken, the replicas have proportionately wider bodies - it was narrow to begin with and 8/10s of narrow would be intollerable - with the trailing end of the front fender fairing into the cowl. The Cord in my dreams has the distinct separate front fenders (but not the bustleback trunk) -

I once looked at buying a Cord but it was in 1970 so I don't remember much about them. An old mechanic that was advising me on such projects at the time advised against the purchase as he thought the transmissions were trouble prone and said he had heard a lot of horror stories about them.
I do know the Glen Pray's were not the same size as the originals, but I could not tell you if the length is different, the width is different or both are different. |
