i remember when they first opened up in az. a co worker and i stopped in one afternoon for lunch. i ended up spending $30 on two beers and lunch. never been back

it always irritates me seeing the "no guns allowed '' on the outside of any place i like to eat, but sometimes the stomach and taste buds have the final say.

Well, the owner has the right to declare if he wants guns off the place or not. Obviously the criminal will leave his gun at home and not shoot up the place since there is the sign there. We had an anti gun mayor that thought that he could stop criminals from having "Saturday Night Specials" by declaring that guns with a barrel of less than 4 inches were not permitted in Madison.

On the subject of the restaurant. I guess I am surprised. A business establishes policies designed to attract the most customers. It is that simple. If I wanted a political position in a bible thumping town, you bet I would be adopting religion way before I run. I'd have seen the light. NFW would I get elected with my stance on religion being the opiate of the masses. In my work, I have to associate with people that I would NOT want in my private life. Business is business. The values people say they stand for might not be the real deal but it is designed to attract the target audience. Back in the 80s, I knew of an attractive girl who was an escort to gay men. Why? Because they wanted to give the image of a straight man for their business functions. Does anyone think that Nationwide insurance is really on your side?

I dont see why people make a big deal of things. Dont like the policy? Dont shop there. No need to make a big deal of it.

Yes, it's not like it's an Internet forum or something . . .

It may be nothing more than a "Howard Schultz moment" (Starbucks) for free advertising.

x2.

Big freaking deal. Guy doesn't want firearms in his business. I respect that, I don't want them in mine.

lock it in the car or don't bring it to dinner if you must eat there. If you don't like it, don't shop there.

Ha, that statement could certainly apply for back when I used to attend church, without fail the plate for money donations gets past around the congregation.

Every single time.

It's true. One man shops might be good, might be bad. Hard to say. I know what I am getting for $X when I walk into say Olive Garden as opposed to a few places where there is a mystery. Once in a while, I might explore but when I eat, I prefer to know what I am getting. On exploration nights, I prepare enough time for myself so I can dump whatever I don't like and get myself something better should this one be a bust.

As to church, I go only when I have to and certainly don't donate except to my favorite cause. Me.
