Petrol is free for tourists - just like the dope, tulips, and trains are free for tourists here.

Drop me a line when you get here, I"ve been here for about 8 months. You will enjoy it. Just for reference I picked up an 09 M5, the V10 drinks gas even worse then my 05 E55. It costs me exactly $27 USD to fill it up.

Cheers!

CONGRATS!

PLEASE also note that they do have some strange customs there that we might find a little too strict for our tastes.

Example:

During the Ramadan season, even though you are not Muslim, you can be fined or even jailed for eating where other people can see you, if you do it before sundown prayers!

Be careful also about visas and having a certain minimum amount of cash in your bank accountm, they get nervous about that and they can require you to put 3 months' rent in adcvance!

PLEASE do some research and get your visas in order.

And be sure to know where the Spanish Consulate and the Embassy are.

Get all those numbers on speed dial and write them in your wallet!

Good luck and keep us updated!

Great to hear. Can't wait to see the pictures start rolling in. Especially the ones of you testing the upper limits of a 6.9. I'm sure you will see/drive some cars we can only drool about! Plus you should be able to have a nice side business exporting used parts that we can't normally get.

I was reading recently about serious problems with Asian labor in Dubai. Employers take the worker's passport and wont let them leave the country.

I think they are a bit like that. Though probably without the windows. But I bet the $800 per month rent is the same.
