Now, let's hear *YOUR* solution.

This has been going on for 20 years. He about 70 years old. Wait him out, put liens on his property. What's another 20 years?

Seriously? So if he is 40, we prosecute but if he is older we wait it out till death takes over? What if he is 65 or 60 or 55?

He hasn't been charged with a crime, so prosecution doesn't enter into it.

The rancher is the azzhat here- pay your money, which is peanuts- and then take the "high road" about the big bad feds. Otherwise zip it. I agree with the feds on this one.

Or, I know this is radical but how about showing up in court with your attorney and speaking your mind and see if the judge agrees with you?

You're implying that the US justice system delivers any semblance of justice.

Well if there is a better system, I'm all ears.

Maybe we can settle disputes with using the fast draw like they did? How about sword fighting?

More than a semblance.

I read in the local paper that the rancher represented himself in court. He has (had?) about 900 head, presumably worth around a grand each. I think he could have afforded and should have hired a lawyer.

They do say that a person who represents himself in court has a fool for a client.

If I had to guess, I'd say he did try to hire himself an attorney but they told him he didn't have a case. If it were me, I'd have consulted several attorneys so I get a feel of whether it is winnable or not.

If all this fuss is about a tortoise what about all the wild animals that live in the same area? Maybe this is O's version of what P is trying to do in Ukraine?

How much ammo does the BLM have?

I'm still trying to figure out why I'm in a higher tax bracket than O is?

I think you forgot to mention Benghazi.
