The ranchers were offering to resist with deadly force.

I'm not talking about the ranchers. I'm talking about the unarmed family members that were pushed down and maced.

You used it as an argument by analogy. An analogy should work both ways congruently.

If it's good for the federales to abuse dope suspects it is also okay for them to abuse grazing violators and vice-versa.

I would argue that it is an extremely dumb move in both cases for the feds to go to violence.

I would say that it's even dumber to offer up physical violence to a larger and better equipped force...

Guessing that the ranchers never found a use for Sun Tzu...

I kind of doubt that the minutemen ever read any of General Tzu's writings either.

They tend to go for the larger working dogs, not the little lap yappers.

"The Art of War" may be on a few ranch bookshelves, but not a likely majority line Zane Grey.

George III would have loved you. Ho Chi Minh would have thought you a fool.

Correct me if I am wrong, but was not Ho Chi Minh a proponent of guerrilla tactics?

Ho did not fear superior forces nor did he win every battle.

Same with Washington. In fact, if you think about it, ol' George lost most of his battles.

The Greeks won battles against the Romans and the lesson we learn from them is a Pyrrhic Victory.

Tsun Tsu is completely wrong except if he says never fight a superior force.

Unfortunately, they are not clairvoyant and cannot predict things so they have to arrest everyone there and sort it out later.

I was talking about the two individuals that were tased and maced by the federales, not the armed crowd. This is what led to the armed crowd.

I thought it was one person tased, no persons maced.....

The tased individual acted with hostile intent.
What would you expect LEO to do?

The armed folks who showed up after would have been well served to research the situation before taking up arms against their government.
Of course, many of them wait with baited breath and foiled heads hoping for an opportunity to take a shot at someone...anyone. Dangerous fools.

Sure can't argue with that, but Michelle didn't get her cattle confiscated.

Personally, I think that foreign vacations by POTUS and family should not be allowed. The cost of protection is much too high.
Any foreign travel should be only to perform the function of the job.
This should be one of the things that POTUS has to sacrifice in order to hold the position.
They can travel to Africa all they want once he is out of office.
