Why is a "what if" being brought up at all.

The Military that routed the Bonus Marchers had access to enough Weaponry to Kill all of them if that had been the goal. But, the goal was to get the Marchers off Federal or City Property and apparenty only enough force to do that was used.

You know from working on Your Car that the in general wrong Tool does not do as good of a job as the Right one.

Part of the problem is that the ATF is known for some near illegal practices. If you had a totally legal AR-15 and one of your Neighbors saw it and confused it with a real M-16 and told the ATF He though you had a machine Gun. The ATF would kick you door in and confenscate your Gun.

After that then have been know to take the Gun and experiment with improper Lubricants and in some cases managed to get the Guns to Fire fully Automatic due to the improper and attempted to prosecute the Owner.

Others have written Articles aluding to the fact that the ATF Agents/Offiers were frequently People who the FBI and the CIA had passed on.
