He SHOULD have to abide by the law like everyone else, but in his case, you can bet everything you own that he will not. Typical Politician riff-raff.

Tell me how he won't abide by the law, particularly with a national spotlight illuminating his every move on this matter.

FOX:

Conyers can run as a write-in. If he wins the primary as a write-in, he would qualify for the general election ballot.

You have to look at the big picture.

When someone needs these sigs gathered the fastest way to do it is to hire some folks to stand outside of a busy business area and hit up everyone with their spiel. They have been told to get X amount of sigs and call it good.

OK, nothing wrong with this and everybody does it. But if you want it to work you have to give some instructions to the folks gathering the sigs so the sigs will be valid under state law, and you have to make sure the person gathering the sigs is valid under state law.

Apparently someone dropped the ball somewhere because at the core of the petition fail was the invalid status of those gathering the sigs.

So the number of sigs is moot. There could have been thousands of sigs but if they were not legal it would not matter.

What I think is funny is the obvious lack of leadership from someone connected to this thing. He might still prevail with the write in angle, but with just a few minutes of leadership in the right place all of that could have been avoided.

And.....

If he were that corrupt he would have had no trouble in coming up with a record breaking number of sigs. That's what corruption is for: Total victory and leaving nothing to chance.

For an example of corruption done right check out Lyndon Johnson's victory in Jim Wells County, Texas, in 1948.

If your'e going to play the game, boy, learn to play it right!

It will be interesting to see how the Judge rules. I can remember a conversation with a Lawyer about 50 years ago where he was telling me that if you make a mistake in a line of business that is not your normal line of business then a Judge will take that into consideration during a lawsuit.

But if you make a 'mistake' in the course of a business you have been in for many, many years the Judge will take the view that if anyone should know better it should have been you. When the Judge starts in with, "A man with your years of experience, making a mistake like this, why.......," you know things are not going to go your way.

There is actually a legal term for this line of thought. Anyone know what it is? I sure don't and I don't intend to set-off the billing clock at my Lawyer's bunch just to find out.

Nope. They would have known the law on this since they always did in the past.

It would be interesting to see who was gathering the sigs. Very likely well meaning people, but without the proper leadership things are bound to go wrong. That's pretty much the case for whatever you are talking about.

The part I find interesting about this is that the guy is supposed to be one of the leaders of our country but he can't even lead a few people in gathering sigs.

It just might be time to think about retirement.

Wonder if the write-in voters will show proof of voter eligibility.
