The good news is that the video recording will help the woman.

The cops in the video should not continue to work as cops. While the job they do is horrid, clearly those in the video lack the temperament to do it right.

Exactly. It's not that she was necessarily right in grabbing for the badge (though if a cop refused to ID himself I might have done the same), but that the cops in question did everything to escalate vs de-escalating.

Why not call it even? The officers drop charges and agree to a transfer to a desk job (not as if either of them had injury other than to ego). She agrees not to sue the department in the future.

Reminds me of a case an associate was involved in. He had received a traffic ticket and decided to hire a lawyer to take up his case in court. He carefully shopped around and found a lawyer who specializes in traffic ticket issues and has a history of WINS. Court date comes up, he and his lawyer attend court for the proceedings. The ticketing police officer also appears. The district attorney presented his case by calling the police officer to testify. The defense lawyer then presented his client's case. After the smoke cleared, the judge ruled in favor of the defendant. The defense lawyer then turned to shake hands with the police officer. The cop REFUSED to shake hands with the defense lawyer then turned and stamped out of the court room like a spoiled brat.

Question: are traffic tickets THAT big of a deal? Is winning a traffic ticket case THAT important to a cop's identity and ego? Seems in some cases, it is......

Another one of those "friends"? Not to say I don't believe you but I don't.

Brilliant. Until you mentioned it, I always assumed you picked a lawyer by the tie color. Thanks for the titbit.

I don't shake my opponent's hands in court or anyplace. As to what else happened, all we have is your word via your "friend".

Or maybe, just maybe, he felt that your buddy should have been ticketed because it was the right thing and not let off?

Considering your past, it does make the job difficult to believe it wasn't made up

Not necessarily?

I doubt you have the stones.
