Honestly I just put on the blinker and slow down and wave them past. It ain't worth the headache. If I'm feeling particularly irritable, I might lay on the horn and give them a thumbs down out the window.

Drivers who see you signal to change lanes and then shoot ahead from behind to block you. Funny, there wasn't a car there when I signaled a second ago...
In some places, using your signal before a lane change is just giving the enemy advanced notice. When I drove a big truck in Portland, I turned on the blinker, waiting three blinks, then went over. Everyone scattered - if you waited for them to make a gap you were screwed.

I do that all the time. I'd pass on the left if it were possible, but we have enough left lane campers in my area that any lane might be the fastest or slowest moving at a given time. I just exploit whatever openings are available.

When you're behind someone going extremely slow, 15 to 20 miles per hour below the speed limit, they will seem like they catch on and will go fast but never do, so when you realize this and change lanes, you look in the rear view mirror and they've just turned... You put up with their slowness for miles and right when you decide to move to the next lane, magically their exit has come... UGH

This weekend, I had an idiot in front of me in a Hyundai Sonata waiting for the light to turn green. When it does, by the time he wakes up, it's turning yellow as I'm going through. Then the next light turns yellow, then red just as we reach it and the bonehead runs it!

Happy Motoring, Mark

That's my SOP. The blinker tells you I'm coming over, I'm not asking for permission. If they speed up they get to slam on their brakes that much harder.

When I get a distracted person at a new green light, I wait for the time it takes me to push or pull clutch (depending on which vehicle I'm using), apply first gear, and then a count of two or three. If the vehicle in front of me isn't moving by then, I give them a little reminder with the horn. Works every time.

In the realm of motorcycle riding, when someone is tailgating because they of course need to be a car length or less behind me at all times even though there is clearly traffic in front of me that they can definitely see , I find that a simple non-offensive hand gesture waving them to back off does indeed work very well. I also follow it up with a nice open palm thank you gesture.

On the highway: drivers who get in front of you from the right lane, only to be the same speed or slower than those to your right. When you pass them, and look to see what's going on, you realize they're oblivious to what they just did (cell phone, make up, not paying attention).

Because of this ranting and the help received, I have had less issues. I am more observant of people behind, and if there is, not slowing down so fast, especially for off ramps. I am especially more relaxed about left turns.

From what I see in California and Nevada - and I am on the road a LOT:

Apparently all these new high-tech pickup trucks are now sold brand new without turn signals

Im going to open up a new question with what I observed this past weekend ,two bicyclist while on a ride take up one lane of traffic while going over a long bridge ,available to them is a shoulder on the oncoming lane ,also available to them is a jogging/bike path . Question to riders and non riders alike,Knowing Its illegal to pass on a bridge wouldnt it be in everyones best interest if cyclist used the bike path on bridges for everyones safety ,mostly theirs.
