New use For Mosquito Spray: Headlight Plastic Covers.

Off Deep Woods is what I used ...pump bottle. $6.99 + tax. Have done 6 cars and only used half the bottle.

Tell us how long it lasts, I give it a few days before it starts to haze over again.

I find most of the quick fixes and kits don't give great or long lasting results. I recently spent $30 for a headlight renewal service at Sam's, similar to the kits but they use heat to bake on the chemicals. 5 year warranty, including against chemicals (adhesive removed damaged it on our van).

This is what professionals use on aircraft canopies and windscreens.

Spraying chemicals won't do a thing. They need yo be polished and given a new UV coat. I did my MINIs lights a year ago and they turned out OK but they are back to crap again. It's weird how som e lights go crusty and others dont.

Never said this was a permanent fix. Took me three minutes to do an Audi A4. If it last a few months, how much time are you hoping to save...and why all the negativity ?

Any of you nay sayers tried it yet?

It's all about the plastic's chemistry. Some break down in UV, some don't.

Ingredients from MSDS/Label:

Chemical CAS No / Unique ID Percent

Ethanol/SD Alcohol 40 000064-17-5 50-60
Propane 000074-98-6 1.0-5.0
Isobutane 000075-28-5 1.0-5.0
Butane 000106-97-8 1.0-5.0
N,N-Diethyl-meta-toluamide 000134-62-3 25-35
Water
It's the solvent in the product (the first four ingredients listed above) that is doing a number on the headlight lens. I doubt that the DEET or the water is the culprit.

I've got a lot of scratches on mine, no uv issues though. I imagine a good polish will shine em up

Try gasoline or carb cleaner

Seems to me that this would be a great way to clean up the headlights to sell a car. They'll start noticably hazing again after a week or so.

A friend has a 1997 Honda Accord wagon. He has had it since new.

The lenses are as clear today as they were in 1997 and this thing has never been in a garage.

Maybe everyone is waiting for Honda's patent to expire before copying their formula?
