Hoping to get back into an MB...

Well, my Furd the turd had some new issues pop up this weekend, and has me now thinking the "ownership experience" isn't worth the cost.

I've found a nice AMG for sale in Southern California, and made an offer on it. The gentleman selling it is very interested in my offer, and if the stars align this week, I'll be unloading the F250 and be back behind the wheel of something with a 3-pointed star.

(And for those interested, a seal went out on the steering box and took out the power steering pump. Fun trying to drive that tank with no power assist)

Oh them Fords. What do they do besides end up on the tow rope attached to my GM?

I'm going to take a guess. W211 E55 is what you're eying now?

I see S55 or S63 written all over you. Don't stint and wind up with an E.

In regard to the truck, you've spent so much time and $ sorting it out, why dump it now? A steering box seal can go on any vehicle.

This is the perfect opportunity to swap in manual steering.

Well this was inevitable.
What truck will you replace this truck with? I get the swapping to an amg, but that leaves you without your tow vehicle.

Going back to a duramax? Or are you going to go for a cummins now instead? With the amount of cars you go through i say stop wasting time with these bloated semi useful brodozers and just buy a cab over rollback NPR or similar.

Come back to the old guard. Buy a 124! A 201! or a 126!

Or...all three.

I would be cautious with any Mercedes that has the Airmatic or ABC suspensions

Car in question has air-matic delete....

I'm more worried about SBC, especially with their finite service life.

Grab a Yodge with the 6.7 Cummins + 6speed. You won't look back.

With the diesel smoke obscuring everything behind you, what would be the point?

If you looked back you'd see all the trim pieces and flakes of rust falling off the dodge.

It can be done!

Actually if I were to squeeze an engine into an older MB chassis it would be the R107 or 126 SEC.
