I like to go fast too and HATE getting tickets, but I remember reading an article entitled "Speed Kills." I said, "Na - it's the driver not the speed."

Then the last couple of sentences kinda brought it all together. It suggested to simply try running as fast as you can into the nearest wall in your house. Now, pick yourself up if you still can and now try walking - ever so softly - into the same wall. See the difference?

Saw the same kind of saying on a race car years ago ( too fast to die) . I would not put that on my car if I raced it. Kind of asking for it !

There is one sure way to put the police out of business. Stop breaking the laws!

NC Troopers are the meanest most polite troopers you will ever encounter. They are very respectful to you but, they always have this "try something stupid and I will beat the s**t out of you" expression in thier eyes.

Out-of- towners are easy ticket revenue. Its highly unlikely that you will go back to that state to challenge the ticket in court. More often than not people just pay the fine and call it even.

Oh, and the way I see it is if I get caught breaking a traffic law then I get what I deserve. I've had some cops let me slide on some things that should have landed me in jail. So I can't bad mouth police at all.

Yeah on a recent trip to the US got pulled up for doing 80 (65 limit) in the rental Ford Windstar LX (that thing was a lot quicker than my 190E..!, otherwise POS).. they just let us off with a warning - guess it helps being foreign?

william rogers -

i know exactly what you mean. whenever I travel to the US, I like to do my travelling at night - less traffic and you can always run with the semi's. Best way to travel. Like you said - they know where the troopers are and they generally run 10 MPH over the limit - nothing crazy but enough to make good travelling time. Plus it's somehow comforting to have a couple of rigs ahead of you, especially when you're going through Pennsylvania in the summer...deer everywhere.
