How strict are your State Police?

Here in Illinois,it seems that they are zeroing
on sports cars.Especially out of towners. This
happened last sunday.Going to a nieghboring
town,took I-90.Doing about 70mph on a 55mph
zone, and side by side w/a late model Mustang(Wis.Plate)out of nowhere a patrol
car was behind us.I pulled over so as the Mustang.
The officer, got off the car and and told me "you can go Sir".I took off real quick before he change
his mind.I guess the other driver got the ticket.
Is it the cars?Or the licence plates?

Some states are stricter than others. The strictest cops I have encountered are in VA and in NJ. Both are out in numbers on the highways.

Worst coverage I ever saw was in MA, Upstate NY was pretty bad too, guess they had nothing better to do.

CA is great, they let traffic flow out here....knock on wood.

I-94 heading from Chicago to Detroit is by far the worst! Those pigs have a bad attitude! The biggest reason i hate cops is my incident in Michigan.
Keep your eyes peeled for those F****RS!

Just try getting a police office in los angeles to file a report ona friday night.

When I had my accident, I wanted to file a report because of road hazzard that was causing other cars to also lose control.

The police told me they couldn't be bothered.

Now as far as state police, I couldn't tell you, only run ins witht he law I have ever had have been in the city, and I have always gotten warnings. so nothing bad to say here.

But when lives could be at stake, and I want to notify them so they can at least set up flares or geta cleanup crew out to take care of it and I am told they couldn't be bothered, well that just really annoys me. To protect and serve is the LAPD Motto. But to me its more like to protect ones own ass and serve nobody is more to that tune. that kind of attitude doesn't fly with me, and the city is damn lucky I decided to not contact my attorney to put together a lawsuit against the city for lack of assistance when it was needed. I had to call 911 4 times and wait 30 minutes before even one office showed up and then immediately left when I asked to file a report. after telling me they couldn't be bothered to waste their time. Yeah maybe there are some serious crimes going on out there, but still I thought it was about public safety, and I can tell you I don't feel too safe when I get given that kind of attitude.

Local cops are zeroing-in on moded cars.... with body-kit, CAI, header, exhaust, short spring and speeding, you are pretty much guaranteed a tow.... YES, they tow alway the car at owners' expenses..... and those PIGs... Um.. I meant Cops.... have absolutely no knowledge in car and/or automotive trends/news/techs......

I had gotten pull over 3 times in ONE FKing day because of the HID on my Acura... ARG.... they all give me that "Blue-ish headlights are illegal... blah blah blah"... and was so insist on writting me a Vehicle Inspection ticket.... even after I showed them my owner's manual stating that HID is STANDARD on my car.....they were so ignorant that they told me to forward the VI ticket fees(about $65 US)to Honda Canada if it really is factory HID!?!?!? Hm.... HELLLLLO..... I shouldn't even need to put up this kind of crap at the very beginning..... ARG... damn PIGS......

Anyone seen "Training Day" with Denzel Washington? Although the movie is "fiction"... I can bet that it happens in real life. Although not all cops are bad.. I personally feel that a strong majority have fallen in the spell that they have power and can do what they want. Also.. remember prior to September 11... the media was all over the NYPD for its corruption and wrongful shooting of that black immigrant. But after that, the media now hails them as heroes. in my oppinion, the only heroes were the FIREMEN. How often do you hear of a bad or corrupt fireman? Not often! But when it comes to police.. its a different story. Thats just my point of view towards police. I am not showing hate towards them... but in my oppinion, I feel many are corrupt. Now I just hope I don't start any hate threads on what I just said. Remember.. everyone is entitled to their own oppinion.. and I just merely said my oppinion

NY state troopers are pretty strict...no way getting out of one!

the local police are pretty reasonable....if u seem nice...they will let u off with a warning or reduce the speed

but the state troopers.....by the book only....they will write u a ticket then listen to ur explanation

but then again...perhaps if one obeyed the speed limit....there wouldn't be a problem in the first place

but my damn car feels slow @ 55 or 65....i like to cruise @ 70-75

NY state troopers, I agree, will likely not let you off if you are caught.

NJ state troopers are extremely good at catching speeders. They have it down to a science, literally, over there. Check out the news from about a year ago if you don't believe me.

PA and MA state troopers love, I mean looooooovvveee, out of towners, particularly those from NY and MA. Its also very easy to pull a New Yorker over because apparently our local police officers don't really care about such "mundane" things as blue turn signals, blacked out tailights and noise polluting exhaust Its a field day for PA cops on a holiday weekend East coast, I95, in general is a nightmare. Somedays its really enforced hard North to South.

There was a documentary on TV a little back, complete with hidden cameras and stealth vans, about a midwest state, I forget which. These troopers were pulling over only out of state cars and seizing them for ridiculous things. The problem was everything in the car and the car itself was sold within a month at the local police auction. So even if you wanted to fight the ticket, a nightmare if you were from out of state, the car would be gone even if you won It was entertaining to watch

As I live in NY I have nothing really else bad to say about cops, too many of them died recently. But sometimes things do happen that make you say hmmmmmmm.......

Gosh lay off the police a bit would you?
I had the opportunity to have lunch with Mike Tangas, his wife, and kids. Mean Mike Tangas, yeah... Why don't you pick on lawyers a bit for the time being.

Anyway, Last December I had a really good experience with law enforcement. Some of you may know that last year a kid with bald tires ran into my ML. The policeman was there in under 5 minutes! Here in Minnesota all they need to do is scan your license and up comes everything, even your insurance carrier. Making the report was so painless, and what made things even better was that his report was available the next day at precisely noon, just like the officer told us. I obtained a copy, faxed it to an insurance adjuster in TEXAS and within three days my claim was processed and a check issued.

I didn't have to lift a finger, the cop did all the work, walked the accident site, diagrammed the incident, filed the paperwork, and made it available for me. How much is that worth to you?

The other day on the way to my soccer match there was an accident. The occupants were flung from the car and one of them survived and there was a bright orange tarp covering the other. They had to painfully reconstruct the accident piece by piece. How are YOU gonna act if you were an officer at the scene?
