Does anyone have any experience with Greyhound's Claim / Tracking Process
Need some assistance --
Ordered and paid for a part exactly one month ago. Shipped through Greyhound Bus Co., presumably around 2 March 2015. Called Greyhound, local, (803) 256-6465. Rep said "official" policy is up to 14 days, although most coast to coast shipments are less than a week. Prior experience with Greyhound: I have shipped approximately six (6) items, ranging from aluminum hoods, windshields, back windows, manual trans, et cet. Never a problem. Shipping from SE USA to West Coast took around 4 or 5 days. Never an issue, Never anything breaking. Overall, very impressed with Greyhound and very happy. Now, I was told that I needed a tracking number and Seller initiates the tracing process / claims process. Total of five (5) messages since 19 MAR 15 (Last Thursday) to the Seller and no response. Getting a little bummed since prior to then, responses were within an hour or so. Any idea(s) out there ? |

How do you know that it was actually shipped? How did you pay for the part? If you can stop payment at this late date (or dispute a credit card charge), do so, which should flush out the seller if he actually did ship the part.

Without sounding like a smartazz, which I'm not, I guess I really don't know if it was shipped since I did not physcially see it (again, not trying to be a turd). I was told it was going to ship on 2 MAR 15. I paid on 23 FEB 15. I paid thru PayPal. I sent a message thru PayPal on 19 MAR 2015, but waited for a response until yesterday. Yesterday I elevated it to a "claim." I figured four (4) days is enough time to repspond, especially since I sent three (3) PMs thru PeachParts prior to then and I checked that member's attendace, so he had to get them. Plus, I emailed him to the email listed on PayPal, and I PM'd on STD from the 19th of March (Thursday to Sunday, x5 messages, about 1 a day). Prior to money changing hands, I got a response within a few hours.
I sell a lot of parts, et cet., on the forums, and sometimes I am a day or more late, but I always notify Buyers ASAP of why the delay or issue. I guess I thought it was a forum custom or common practice to get back to folks within a day, maybe no more than two. Just a little bummed that I have not heard anything back. |

Seller's last activity on this forum was "Last Activity: 03-22-2015 07:56 PM". I tracked my PMs and his activity, and I can say he was on the forum after each PM sent, and I have a hard time believing that three (3) PMs somehow got "lost" ...

I guess if I lost $125, life will certainly march on.
I tracked down his "phone number" that I had last month ... no longer works or maybe I just wrote it down wrong. I got his criminal record from Hamton PD (Virginia). Verified phone number's area code went to that area of Virgina. I found out where he graduated from HS (Hampton, VA), and I got his DOB. Figured out spouse, et cet. Checked out the area of California where I recall he mentioned he was shipping items from, and there's a bunch of folks with the same last name in that town. I only invested around 15 minutes snooping around. One evening when I cannot sleep because of neck / back pain, I will do a full court press to figure out all that I can. I really just want my part or at least a PM or email letting me know the tracking number so that I can start the tracing process. Thanks for the response ... |

Thanks P.C., et al.
After posting today on Peach Parts, I got a response. No dash shipped yet. I requested a full refund and no dash to be shipped. So, the dash should be back on the market pending my full refund. I will update PayPal today, as well. I accepted the Seller's explanation. Things happen. A decent deal IMO for those interested in a dash. Last edited by greazzer; 03-24-2015 at 01:07 PM. |
