Yuck. Date your employee? NFW would I ever do such a stupid thing. Dipping your pen in company ink is a good way to risk problems. Sure, he got away with it, for now

Technically speaking, a manager isn't an employee, he's a contractor.

If I am writing you a check, I'm not sure how you want to split that hair but I'd have to say I am your employer.
