Warriors v. Cavaliers

Could be a good one. Cleveland wants the LeBron dream to come true: he brought a championship to his home stomping grounds. Likewise the Bay Area has had a crummy team for 30+ years and they love their baby faced MVP, a very smart guy IMO.

I had thought GS would take it in a walk but now I'm thinking 7 games and who knows.

Go Cavs. Go LEEEEEBRON. BRING IT HOME!

Let's hope it's a good 7 game series.

Since my 76ers are the 26ers ... lol ... I'm hoping the Cavs bring home the championship. My prediction: 6 game and it's over ...

Nah man. Warriors in 5.

But no hey, all seriousness aside, I'm thinking 6 or 7 and it could go either way. The Warriors are surprising, they've got depth. The backup center Azeli could be a star someday. Could start on more than a few teams. He's young and recovering from a major knee injury - missed last season. Bogut is 30, Azeli 26. I hope he stays with us because 40 minutes a game will just age his knees all that much quicker. When Bogut retires, he'll be a power.

But yeah, LeBron is having some kind of postseason. The Cavs aren't quite as deep as GS perhaps but James might put them over the top.

I rarely agree with you, but you're right on the assessment. The semi's were somewhat disappointing since both teams walked over their opponents. I think the momentum is with the Cavs, but, and the big but is whether the Cavs can hang long term.

When you say Warriors and Cavaliers, all I think of are these:

In the Warriors corner, Mo Speights is going to be playing, according to Kerr. He's been good off the bench and well liked by his teammates. They were without him for most of the playoffs.

You can get an amen from the church on that one.

That's why I tend to think the Cavs might win it. The spirit is strong. But then, the warrior nation is a pretty loud and hardcore group as well.

Gives me an odd sort of comfort in this one. I'm a tad shocked, after years of the Warriors being doormats that we're here. And I also note that the next few years might be good. So if the Cavs win, I'm not going to be too bummed. I'd almost like to see Cleveland get that sort of release, if'n you know what I mean.

Either way, I still gotta get up the same time tomorrow.

Hopefully the Warriors will win it in 5. Lebron and Kyrie(sp) did all they could together in game 1 and in the end it wasn't enough. Now Kyrie is out for good. I doubt Lebron can score 60 or 75 every game to pick up the slack and w/o both the Cavs depth can't compete with the warriors bench in my opinion. Time will tell.

Am going to game 2 on Sunday (work has a box), will be my first Pro BB game. Ought to be fun.

Go Dubs.

I was reading he played 43 minutes that night, and was not that long back from his previous injury. Reportedly his father and agent thought he should take a longer spell off for convalescence from his previous injury.

Irving injury has Cavs at a loss | Golden State Warriors | San Francisco | San Francisco Examiner

I've seen footage that indicates virtual certainty that it was a freak contact of Klay Thompson's knee moving forward into Irving's knee sideways that did the damage. Hard to say if any weakened condition made him more susceptible to the injury. I kinda think most people would suffer some discomfort for starters from a thrust into their knee like that.

Interesting bit of info. I haven't fact checked it but sounds right:

NUMBER: 1998

Last time the NBA Finals did not feature Kobe Bryant or Tim Duncan or Dwyane Wade. That was when the Chicago Bulls beat the Utah Jazz for the last of Michael Jordan's six championships.
