My 16" rear rim is damaged and I am trying to buy one with a good rim. Its a three piece wheel so I believe I can change the outer rim only and get what I need.

Anybody have any experience with separating three piece wheels?

Today I scoped out my suspension ride height. I believe with the original rims on the car I can drop it at least 2" in front and 3" in back. I believe my car is higher than standard ride height at present based on various dimensions shown here of fender lip to ground and headlight to ground.

So I ordered some spring perch adjusters.

The Cobra is now sitting on its original wheels with Hoosier slicks on it. It is lowered down and has about 3" clearance now. It looks tough. I'll post pics tomorrow.

I just added up the wheel and tire weights and it looks like I have reduced the wheel and tire weight by 58# total and it is all unsprung so it will improve ride and handling and allow quicker acceleration and decellaration.

So that should offset the weight of the power steering, and then some.

The tire guys flooded it yesterday. Today we changed the plugs and cranked it. It started with a very gruff Wooof! Sounds like a 500# dog woofing.

I checked the ride height today and it is right around 4". One place a bit less another a bit more. I am very eager to drive it and see if it all works as advertised.

I found it is too low in front. When using full lock on steering it rubs on the fender. I'm gonna raise it up a half inch and see what that does.

The alignment on the front has transformed the car from a twitchy biotch to an obediant puppy.

So today I figured out it is not hitting the fender but the sway bar inside the fender, so I'll have to put a stop on the steering movement I guess. I took it out in the country on my favorite test drive route and it drives much much better, but when the pavement twists from side to side it is still a bit squirrely.
