Talking Thanks for posting the pics...

...I now feel much better about ordering my DEPO Euro lights for my 420SEL. Mine will be arriving sometime this week from Sunny Miami, Florida. The guy from Mercantile Europarts has the brackets that I need to use my US wiper motors in my W126 and he will be sending those along with the lights. I'll post information on the install.

Ken from Simi Valley finally wrote to me with his telephone number. I will order some Euro lights from him for my daughter's 300TE.

All is well that ends well....

hey alon!!!
i also found a guy who sells the panels that you can use to keep your wiper blades with the new euro lights....
an easy converstion for the w124's if you have the headlight wiper blades...but knowing you (the king of 92' 300CE mods ), you probably already have that conversion set up...!!!!

Ohh I'm getting rid of those wipers.

as for install. I'm doing it myself.

All you need is the 6 prong connector plug, you can order it from phil on the site.

As far as drinks, hell yeah. Drop me an E-mail, I'll give ya my phone number and we can talk shop.

If you want me to install your euros after I do mine, let me know. since I will already know what I am doing anyway.

Alon

ok i'll email my number...
hey would you be interested in a billet grill for your 300CE?

i just spoke to this company that used to make them but stopped, and if i can get a minimum of 10 orders in, they'll make them at 200.00 each.

the billet grills have 45% more lines than the avant garde grill and they're made of airplane aluminum... i saw one on a s400 and it looked so dayum hot i was drooling over it....

hey yal,

the more the merrier...i need to first get 10 people at least to commit to the grills then i need to send the manufacturer a grill shell (they custom build them to fit perfectly...no additional cutting etc.)....it takes 15-20 business days...and then ...voila...the grill that kills

woo hoo....
if you want an idea...the best i can give you is to picture one of those heavily lined grills that you see on expeditions, and other suv's...and transplant that onto a mercedes grill....

I would do it, but I'll be blacking out my whole grille, frame and shell and chrome lines.

I also plan on repairing my front bumper myself, cutting out the lines in the bumper and replacing them with some aluminum mesh.

Right now after all I have spent lately, the billet grill is a nice thought, but unless I get the money in I can't commit just yet.

Alon,

When do you plan on installing your lights. I'd actually like to help with your install and learn how to do them myself. I can only make it up there on the weekends so if you plan on doing them over a weekend and don't mind assistance email me and we'll meet up.

Hmm maybe we can get a few members to meet up and have a class...what do you think professor?

6 Pin connector... you need one for each light...

I don't think they take paypal. I find Visa, mastercard, or amex works great though. hehe

placo, sounds like a really neat idea. Maybe we can meet up somewhere inbetween, so we don't all have to drive too far.. of course, we drive benzes, so who minds a little roadt trip? hehe

I will let you know when I have my connectors, as I will be eager to get the lights installed. I will however be painting my new wiper delete panels before I do the install. Those take about a day to paint sometimes two... that is done my way heheh 90% prep. I'll end up priming them with about 6 or more coats of primer with wetsanding galore inbetween each coat.... then a few top coats of gloss black again with some more wetsanding, and then after all is said and done, a nice wet clearcoat application. When they are dry... its install time!!

E-mail me and lets try to coordinate. I think it would be a blast. MB Shop So Cal meet and Euro light install instruction. Plus we could all have a blast, and at the same time, we can align the lights..

I'll be pulling together all the install info I can find. I have one from MBCA. Barrie posted one, and there is the one at the lighting site. I forget the name. I'll compile those together.

I would love to do mine with the relays and the rewiring on the spot, but since I am a bit of a perfectionist with my wiring, I'll probably wait until I can find a suitable relay socket to use to just be able to plug in relays and have it look nice and factory installed. mmmmmmmm factory.

Alon
