Got ripped off on Ebay

It's a constant learning experience. I bought some mini blinds made to size. 4 came made to the wrong size. The seller said he would have the supplier make new ones. They never showed up and the seller stopped responding to my messages. The seller has been removed from Ebay but it took so long for all this to play out I went past my money back window. Now I have a claim with paypal. It's about $200-not a huge sum but it's irritating. Moral-if anything goes wrong with an Ebay transaction request a refund Immediately. Don't wait for the seller to fix it.

Exclamation E-Bay Fraudsters

Bummer, this .

I bought several things from one seller with zero issues then one item went 'back order' and just like you, he led me on until the window of redress closed then ignored me.....

Don't ever wait ! .

I've bought several vehicles via E-Bay, every one was shamelessly lied about in spite of me asking the right questions and asking for photos .

Rust, even in Texas was the usual problem .

The 4 blinds were about 1/2" too wide-I managed to trim them by taping the whole thing together and cutting with a band saw. Came out better than I expected. I doubt I will ever get any restitution.
I bought my 3.5 coupe on Ebay but I personally inspected the car first.

Shipping from China is slow quite often. Yet the items always arrived. A couple are way overdue now. This is a first. At least for me. Both are separate items from two suppliers in a region of China I have never used before. So it might just be extra, extra slow.

Post E-Bay Stuff

The shipping from China is much slower than it used to be, I'm not willing to pay extra for fast freight .

Mostly I buy used things there, tools and used vehicle parts .

Russia sometimes had good things, the nice man who sold me a KM speedo for my greymarket 300TD didn't pack it well and it arrived with the needle broken off .

The box he used was a sturdy cardboard box for a dash camera, brightly printed all over in Cyrillic .

The box wasn't damaged, the speedo just bounced on it's face .

I buy lots of old Honda Motocycle parts too, mostly off Amazon .

The American ebay site for Canadians. Has lost most Canadian users. Ebays creativity and greed finally went over the top some time ago. It was good for Canadians in the early days.

Where Amazon is doing a real business up here now. Amazon especially is hurting the common brick and mortar stores more and more. Amazons local delivery service is running full blast.

I rarely use eBay for these reasons. I bought an antenna for my 500SEL on the site. It never showed, and I reported it right away. I got my money back. Yes, you can't give many on there the benefit of the doubt.

When I buy stuff on Ebay I always insist on it being shipped with insurance. Many vendors throw that in for free but the cost to me is usually only about $5.

Every package has arrived. Crooks fear the tracking number.

I mostly only buy inexpensive stuff from china like hobby electronic stuff and LED lighting. I lot of it is junk so if it is cheap no great loss. My drip irrigation fittings turned out to be junk but they were only a few $.

China has about the only items I buy on ebay anymore. Not great dollar stuff and the shipping is usually thrown in.

Ebay purchased Pitney Bowes the old maker of postage rate machines. So when am American vendor choose global shipping to Canada. He mails the package to them and then they go to work at adding additional charges. That the American vendor is not aware of. UPS set the record by adding 11 additional charges.

If an American vendor mentions Ebay's global shipping in his listing. In almost all cases I will pass it by. You get charged duty etc when if the vendor just mails the product to me direct. There usually is no other charges. Of course FedEx and UPS really add the charges on as well. Where USPS is fair. Some Americans vendors are all too aware of the scams. Not many though. Those I will deal with if I buy there again.

I stopped buying from eBay. The auto accessories I bought were of poor quality.

Yea one must use a lot of discretion when buying items of a precise or quality nature. Years ago (before I knew) I bought some LED Christmas lights that shot blue flame when I plugged them in and a laptop power supply that had bare copper where the cord went into the brick. But so inexpensive not worth trying to get money back. Bad quality control.

Post Precision Tools

I recently bought a set of jet drills and gauges, neither were properly marked dammit .

The old place I bought jet drills from is long gone sad to say .
