$130 or $160 for the lenses including scratch/glare and UV protection (depending upon Rx strength) and and $50 for the frames.

The Air Force uses a brand of frames made by a company called Randolph. I have been using them for years. The only problem is the only place I can find then is on Ebay. They usually run about $30 with shipping and they last for years.

Tom Cruise picked up on these when making Top Gun. He swears by them so I though I would try a pair. They not only look great but you can get them in black metal or 22K gold. The gold is plated but it must be thick. It seems to last forever.

(By the way.... Tom says no one pays him to endorse the frames. He somehow manages to scrape together enough money to buy a pair.)

I have never worn out a pair of Randolph frames.

You can't be picky about the style. I think they only make about three styles and then your choices are black, silver or gold. They are also, at least the ones I have, made in Germany or Italy. I have heard they make some in Japan but I have never seen a pair of those.

Check it out. And if you need to know your size the internet is full of sites that will tell you how to measure your glasses.

Dont go to big box optometry. Americas best is the mcdonolds of glasses. Guaranteed wrong. I tried them and it cost 400 for the wrong lenses twice. They have no idea what they are doing.

If on your license you need glasses to drive or not. Plus for general issues to avoid situations. Try to get someone to drive for you until you can get glasses.

Trump will probably have it open soon. Go then because it may not remain open.

Post Eye Glasses

Some folks don't understand the realities of being disabled and broke .

FWIW, I keep trying different eye wear dispensers and they're all close to the same no matter what cute name they have .

I tried wallymart, they sucked and cost the same as my local hole in the wall place .

The basic plastic glasses really suck out loud .

There's a place that helps broke folks out by re dispensing used eye glasses donated ~ I've managed to forget the name , sorry .

Some folks think price and quality are always linked. Just some background. A company called Luxotica began buying up eyeglass brands and distributors about a dozen years ago. That includes most of the "designer" brand frame manufacturers, Sunglass Hut, Lenscrafters, and dozens of other brands that would be familiar to eyeglass buyers. So a pair of glasses that costs less than $100, and which should sell for $150, would cost you $300. Warby Parker and Eybuydirect are independent of the cartel, and much cheaper. And Warby Parker actually makes far better glasses than Lenscrafter. I can spend as much at it takes, but but I don't see a reason to spend a penny on monopoly pricing when excellent products are available for much less. Spend the difference on a good eye doctor.

Hate to break it to you but if you are buying anything other than a single vision basic lens from Warby you are getting ripped off.

If you can get a prescription Zenni Optical (.com) should be able to do the job. Been happy with them.

Can't buy eyeglasses?

The local eye docs are open here. Then you can order online. Usually for way cheaper.
