Went to the local Kroger store and got an anti body test today for $25. Best result would be if I tested to show I had it already and did not know.

It was negative though.

I’ve been coughing hard the past week. Went to physician. He gave me the PCR test a couple days ago. Covid negative. What I did not know is the PCR kit he has runs a panel, not just Covid. Turns out it’s rhinovirus—common cold. I thought it was a great idea to run a panel. Costs the same as a single test.

Well I'm about to go get tested with the wife at the college where she works. Saliva test. Should know in about 3 to 5 days. Not an antibody test though so it'll only tell us is we currently are infected or not.

I did then what I knew how to do ~ now that I know better I do better

I go years between bad colds or the flu. But, then they're really bad. The first three times I was really sick was boot camp (mixed in with people from all over the US plus a few from the Philippines (when they could still join the US Navy)), Hawaii, and the Panama Canal Zone. But, I got even more sick right after the 2017 solar eclipse, not because of the moon blocking the sun, but I had a visitor at my house from South Africa. That was the worst flu I ever had. I almost went to the ER. I got better, but then got sick again two weeks later. I gave it to Frau Putzer, and she got sick and then better three times.

Right after Frau Putzer got back from New Orleans in the spring, I felt something coming on. But, in a few hours it was gone. That's happened three more times since then. I'm thinking about getting the anti-body test.

I say do it. Good to know. What added info could be not good?

Then you would have been spreading it without knowing. Thats the worst case for anyone (given the 99.9% survival rate).
