I read about that one. Truly shocking.

I honestly think some people think their balls get bigger if they have the biggest, strongest dog in the neighborhood. Or think something pretty close to that anyway.

I agree, definitely a quirk in their mental makeup. I see it as stubborn stupidity to defend ownership. Too many other dogs to choose from that would make a more trustworthy companion.

The breed was developed to do what they do. Definitely not a family dog and continues to prove that they are unpredictable.

Holy crap. In that last link, the story where a woman lost a foot, they shared this info:

According to police records obtained by ABC11, Rocky Mount Police and animal control employees have responded to complaints about Proctor's pit bull.

On Aug. 15, a call was made to report that "the dog is barking and trying to bite neighbors."

The following month, Proctor's daughter called authorities, "to have animal control come out and pick up the dog" for reasons not specified.

In an early October complaint, another caller said neighbors were afraid to walk the street because the dog was "aggressive."

This woman was attacked earlier this year. Found the article because she was arrested on drug charges.

A nearby 'low life' to a lake property we go to almost daily breeds pitbulls. He doesn't have a fenced yard and leaves the dogs out most of the day. One larger one has been growling and baring his teeth recently.

Animal control will not come out even though the dogs should be contained or leashed.

Sheriff's deputies ignore the problem.

So I've been reading about the breed.

I bred them for years, for wild boar hunting, not fighting. very good dogs. alot of drug dealers have them for police dogs, most minorities say they have them to hunt white men..

Selective breeding is why they are so dangerous. They can be un-expectably triggered to attack. Once they attack they don't want to stop.
