Philips Vision vs. PIAA 7500k Spark...can't decide which to go with for my new Euro's

I can't decide which to go with!

I finally got a set of euro headlights with 500e lenses and I installed on my car. I currently have Osram 55/60 H4 and PIAA Super White 85 watt H3. The PIAA's are nice, but the 85 watt draw scares me...I will be changing to PIAA Super Plasma H3s, which consume 55 with a similar output to a 85 watt bulb at 5000k.

I am able to get the PIAA Spark H4's which are hitting stores right now in Japan. They draw 55/60, but output is like 100/110 at an amazing 7500K, exceeding that of second generation HID. The price is almost $100 with shipping to Northern California.

Doing a little bit of research, I found out that the Philips are nice. Also, quite a few members have them. Do they resemble HIDs at all? (Or is that what the Blue Visions are for?) The bulbs are not expensive, no more than $35 a pair shipped from PowerBulbs.com

Any comments and or suggestions?

Thanks for any input.

Bye the way, I have some pics of the 500e lights on my 300e, day and night. If you want to see them, I can e-mail them to you. I have no place to host the pics yet, and the files are too big to upload to the site.

hella optilux

I think that piaa is a lot of talk for the money. Some would disagree, but they talk about getting more wattage out of 65Watts or something, but you cant do that, its physically impossible. By winding it looser, you can make part of the beam brighter in a point that is not in the focus which is usually what they make their claim with.

Try www.puma-access.com I just got some of their hella optilux lights they are 35 a set...I am really impressed by them. I am more impressed with the hella lights vs the osram/sylvania silver stars at 50 a set. Try the hella ones...if you buy the standard wattage, they have a lifetime warrantee if that appeals to you.

I run 100/80 in my w123 coupe with no eletrical problems. Right now I have the osram 100/80 ones in and they are pretty good. I put the hella bulbs in the DOT approved W124 cars, etc. I was impressed so I would think the same about the H4s.

Good luck,

Austin
