Speeding ticket in Indiana, HELP!
Ugh! Got nailed for 91 in a 65 on the way back to Cincinnati from the Who concert in Indianapolis two weeks ago. I got stopped in Shelbyville, which seems like a one-horse town. Anyhow, I have a mandatory court appearance on October 1st. I have two points on my license (Ohio isued), but never any offenses out of state. My questions are: 1. Will these points go on my license if they are issued, since the ticket is out of state? 2. Will this go on my driving record since it is out of state? 3. Can they suspend my license like they can if I were stopped in Ohio or will they just suspend my driving priveleges in Indiana? Thanks to any/all who can help!
P.S.--I was driving the '83 300SD, and MAN what a smooth ride at 90+mph! Thanks of course to the new MXV4s I put on it!

My wife works for a big insurance company, and they deal with sort of thing alot, so I asked her.
She says: 1> Yes, the points will be on your Ohio License record 2> Yes, the offense will be on your Ohio License record 3> Yes, the points will carry an equal amount of weight even though they were issued in another jurisdiction. Gilly

Thanks Dan,
Had feeling I was in for it bigtime. Well, fortunately I know an attorney out there who (aside from being a Mercedes buff) is a good buddy of mine, so he's going to do his old pal a favor on Oct. 1st and represent me. Wish me luck.

Check your ticket and see if you have the right to a "deferred adjunctation"...yeah, confusing, but we do it all the time in Texas.
This allows you to go ahead and plead "no contest" and just go and pay the fine. What happens is that you have to keep a clean record for up to 180 days (differs according to district). If you do so, then the ticket is dropped from your record at that time. If you can't seem to keep your nose clean during that period, then that ticket does indeed stay on your record, along with the impending violation. Check it out...
