He did not come on and say he was a believer... he came on and made a declaratory statement and offered an event which had nothing to do with that statement as PROOF....

To respond to that marlachy is not attacking his lifestyle... it is attacking the statement he made....

ok , since this is becoming a "fight" between DL and the others...Im gonna lock this up. Nothing relaly productive to see here.

I say everybody takes a break. DL, don't goto the girl's thread. The rest, give him a break.

OH and if you post pics of girls guys, please make it known in the subject to people like DL and myself (when im at school and all), so we dont get hotties popin' up all over the screen.

RickG, Your last post is a great example of what good discussion is about... more examination and clarification and debate is good... but I wonder that DR///AMG still has not grasped that unless he was being ' funny' ... he is still characterizing the events in this thread incorrectly..... and thinks grown men, discussing a topic freely offered up on an open forum , need to be squelched with threats.... and the implication is also that DL can not handle or deal with this interaction by himself... which I would consider an insult much worse than anything said on this thread about DL ( particularly since he has not been the topic, but only his statement ).....

DR///AMG... where in the rule book did you get the idea that your job as moderator was to " determine if a thread was being 'productive' " ? I think RickG's reaction to our restatments of the subject matter are evidence of extremely productive discourse....

this was already debated ad nauseam. you called the photos porno, thereby implying the posters were pornographers. people begged to differ on that score. only the person viewing the photo (if they choose to do so) can decide how the particular photo makes them or their morals feel, not the poster,you, or anyone else.

Well, I'm sufficiently unhappy with the moderation that I'm disabling my account for awhile by changing the password and clearing my cookies.

Won't be back until the moderator is changed. Someplace other than FastLane gets my business.

Not that I think its a big loss for the forum - but you do see a trend of membership decline?

Then why did he say " THERE IS A GOD "
I suggest that that , since it came first was the subject of this thread.. even if the author did not realize it .

If he had said " THANK GOODNESS THE GIRL WAS FOUND" none of this discussion about GOD would have happened.... EVeryone agrees with that statement.

NO, it has been about the inappropriate attribution of an event in UTAH to something which there is no evidence for... and lots of evidence through logic that it was not the result of ... unless you are also going to blame the initial criminal act on GOD also.... not likely for people who would say what started this thread....

" oh well." This I agree with... maybe you are learning as you get older... or we older guys take you to task for some things... that unless something actually breaks the rules that it should be left alone...( referring to moderator type actions, or threats )....

What I think is interesting to watch is that DR///AMG keeps posting ABOUT the thread instead of About the subject of the thread.... I wonder if he was aware of that orientation.....

While I agree with you guys that DL may be asking for a little criticizm, I think you guys are taking this way too far. I think everyone should respect each other's beliefs, religious or otherwise (that includes athiesm bill). If you don't agree with someone, tell them, but don't mock them for what they believe, or what they say (I've seen many arguments based on mere spelling or punctuation errors). If you guys feel seriously opposed to the notion of god, make another one of those "is there a god" threads, and you can bash God, Christianity, Jesus, and anything else you want. As far as something like giving God credit for a girl's life being saved, I think arguing about it just shows how little concern you had for the girl. I am happy that she is home with her family, and I personally think God had something to do with it. If you ask how god could take her away in the first place, read the book of Job. I'm sure I'll get flamed for this, but I can't just stand and let DL get attacked like this.

Leathermang, after further “research” (aka watching TV) I saw an interview w/ Smart’s dad, and he said something like “there is a god out there, he answered our prayers and brought our daughter back.”

SO, it could be that DL is quoting the dad in the same way

Ok but hey, really I don’t pay attention to this thread, so don’t mind me if I don’t get into the subject at hand (the god stuff).
