Can any explain to me how extended tire war. work?
Well today I discovered that one of the BF Goodrich Precepts on the van has a huge buldge in the side and need to be replaced. We bought the tires at Discount Tire Company and bought the warrenty which is good for 80k. But the problem is the tires have been on for 30k on set the other 39k and those on the front areat the wear bars or past needed to be replaced SO needless to say the tires did not last at all. Does anyone understand how these things work? Am I screwed because the tires have so little tread
Thanks for any Advice Dan |

I would assume that, with the mileage, if the tire tread is legal, they still have to honor the warranty...however, if the tire tread's low enough to not be legal anymore, the warranty won't be honored, simply because the tires need to be replaced anyways. In addition, it could be argued that the damage was caused by the tread being too low.
I'm surprised that the tires lasted that short, though...although I'll admit that I've had two sets of BFG tires on vehicles, and have been unhappy with both sets...

That's what I was wondering. The one with the buldge I'm sure they wont honor for road hazard but I'm hoping that the mileage on the tire will at least get me a decent prorate ??? or so I hope. I have BFG on the BMW now and they are the worst tires ever no traction wet or dry and they have worn out very fast. Now I just have to put my Sumitomo on which I got today they feel very soft but they have some real deep tread.
