is the generally accepted lock lube - use sparingly and really only if you notice a problem with sticking (which you did in OP).

I think your car is a nice daily driver - and by definition our DD's don't have to be show cars.... so spending alot of $ to make it a show car doesn't make sense to me - just repair what is...

newer cars have different tolerances

than the older cars (cars more than about 12 years old) and can use the 0W and 5W oils easier than the older cars - even new the older cars weren't as tight as the new ones are.

I know when I bought my 300E 5spd I researched and found that about 300 US versions were imported from 86-88 IIRC - there are some 5spds on the 190D models too I believe but no idea how many.
