As a test I grounded the o2 plug on the frame and the car rpm's dropped so it's working. So what I will do is cut off the old sensor crimp the new one and preserve the old OEM connection.

I have a 81 380sl and the fan didn't work because the 100c switch and the relay. Mine had it just for the aux fan.

As far as the climate control, mine had the exact same thing and it was vacuum...

coil testing procedure

Ignition coil terminal 1 and ground should be between .5-2v
terminal 15 and ground should be 4.5v
