Yes looks for particulates e.g. opacity testing. put in 5 gals of safflower oil if you are concerned before the test

I have gottemn up to 41 mpg with my E300d; Highway 55 MPH. 28-34 mpg is routine at 70-80 mph. Type of fuel (enegry content ) is also important.
