That's "007" in cognito?

I am wondering why the pages in this site never finish downloading as of late. This type of wierdness is new. The message at the bottom of the browser indicates it is always waiting for download. As I type this message it is waiting for mm.chitika.net and has done so for 20 mins.

You're being "mined" as in data-mining - close your browser and reopen again in a few...

Then fire off an 'e' to the admins. and let them shut this crap off...

If WE aren't allowed to MINE - then why would the advertisers be allowed to?

HUMMMMM????

I googled them and found the solution. I turned off active scripting in my browser and the issue is now fixed.

Here's what I sent to the "Contact Us" folks:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hey folks:

We've getting "mined" by one of you latest banner-ad morons...

Here's where the crap is eminating from...

80.93.48.89

We've got a few people complaining that they're being rerouted on their homepages and in my case, my Norton caught it...

But, this chit is slowing my comfuser down and I'm not too happy about it...

Get after this numbnuts or someone will take care of theirs...

Sincerely...

Mark

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We've had "active scripting" going on before...this is a bit more serious than just an active banner ad scrolling across the page...someone's getting into the computer and messing around ... not cool....

No need for PM, it's not a secret......

I just googled IP lookup

First one that came up was http://ip-lookup.net/

I have gotten Norton intrusion attempt alarms a couple times in the past. Usually they trace back to New Yawk or New Joisey areas. In this case, since it traces back to Russia, gotta figure it might be Russian Mafia or other criminal elements.

It sounds like your computer may be infected by a "Google redirect virus".
You did not get the virus from our site but when you view pages on our site the virus on your computer sees the Google ads on our site and redirects your computer to the Russian IP (80.93.48.89).

Do a Google search for "Google redirect virus".

Thanks...I have a short fuse when my property is getting "tweaked" when I'm not aware of it...

I did "Google" something a few days ago, but for the life of me, I know it wasn't to anything overseas or funky like that...why the heck is this affecting so many of us on this site then?

Wierd.......

OK, there is definitely something going on....

It keeps forwarding me to http://66.135.60.166/e010/h.html

It is doing it on 5 different computers, 5 different places. Its does it on my friends Windows Laptop with ATT card, my Mac at Starbucks, Home Connection, and WiFi at my friends house, my desktop on my home internet, and one persons computer who is totally unrelated, and has 56k (i dont think there are viruses on there), and on one of my servers in a secure datacenter, which no uses for internet....
