Try Austrian Motorworks

I am by no means a pro. I had a '98 c230 that I serviced with them. They always seemed to be on the low side when it came to cost and on the high side when it came to proper servicing. I'd say they're more expensive than your typical "import mechanic," but about as knowledgeable as your Benz dealership. They're on the corner of 14th street and Northside in Midtown.

sorry, forgot to something...

Stay away from Manuel's Mercedes in Smyrna. I went in to have my brakes worked on and when I came out my brakes were fixed but my a/c mysteriously quit. Took my benz to another shop to have checked out and was told the main line to the AC compressor was disconnected, could have ruined the entire system. I am 100% certain this was done by the scoundrels at Manuel's Mercedes/ was told by a mechanic it is absolutely impossible to detach the line without doing so intentionally, it is sealed and is not intended to be opened. Had to have my AC lines vaccumed out.

Thanks. I wasn't sure. I knew they did some work but it didn't really look like a full service shop. Let me know if any one else uses Benz werks in roswell and has other good results. Most of my work I do myself but I may want a pro to do a couple of jobs.

Anyone with a dealer license in Atlanta?

All

I good friend of mine has just got his car totalled and is looking to buy a car in Atlanta through Auction. In Dallas where I lived before moving here I had a number of contacts with Dealer licenses that would allow me to tag along with them to the auction, if I found something I liked, they would bid on my behalf for a small fee.

Is there anyone in the Atlanta area with a Dealer license that would be willing to do the same?

Let me know.

Hi All, this is my very first post/reply. I recently bought my FIRST BENZ...1985 300D Turbo. I took it to German ********, Inc for its first oil change and they were great! They allowed me to watch them and they pointed out some things that I want to pay attention to as a diesel owner. Thus far, I would recommend these guys. 770.435.0804...Ask for Keith or Charlie.

Athens area shop

The "guy in Commerce" is terrific. Found him a couple of years ago by asking a guy with a perfect early 90s MB where he took his car, and I've been very pleased. Knows what he's doing, is scrupulously honest, and very reasonably priced. I've taken my car to the place on Broad Street, and was satisfied, but it's at nowhere near the level of expertise in my opinion.

Revolution

Revolution formerly Classic Repairs is my favorite shop. It is located in Decatur at 500 Dekalb Industrial Way. 404-292-2683. The owner put a lot of money in the shop by moving to a much better location and a lot of updated equipment to work on the newer MBs. MBS in Duluth is also really good. Yosef's is good but I would not take a Mercedes that was built after 1985 to that shop. Austrian Motor on 14th is awfull. They charge more hours for a job than the dealer and use the cheapest aftermarket parts they can find. Do not go there.

Austrian Motors

When I got an oil change there, oil filter they used in my car was made in India and and the C service cost more than any of the other independants that I have used and more than RBM where the previous owner took my car. Granted this was years ago and maybe things have changed, but I like German filters in my German car and have not gone back. I have heard similar things from others who have taken their cars there.

good experiences with

Ken at the Benz Store.... He has done very good work on my 300d and my brothers 300SD. Prices are reasonable and the work is done in a very timely fashion.

Another place my brother and I have had great experiences with is a place called VolRepair. I dont recall the name of the road that they are on. You can probably find it in the yellow pages. There are actually 2 locations, right next to each other. One side works on Volvo, the other works on Mercedes. They do top notch work. Done buisness with both sides, and they did great work.
