Fluke 98 Series II or Snap-on Vantage
For a 1989 420 SEL, I would like to acquire a diagnositic device that could analyze and identify spark plug, ignition wire, dist. cap, rotor, coil, and any other ignition related problems. Also hopefully identify the malfunctioning part. Do you think the Fluke 98 II is the right device?
Is the snap-on vantage with the KV module better value? I know some of you have owned the Fluke 98 series II and have then sold it.

Ls2000
Do you have an LS2000 or have you used one? Will it do all of the stuff I mentioned? Can you tell me its features and functions?

They are the older version scope , but they can be had for cheap and will do any wave form testing you will ever need .
A comparable scope with this speed , features, and quality would run a couple of grand. If you want to look into an ignition circuit and want to know exactly whats going on, a scope is the tool.... but , it also does many other automotive sensor signals, so it is not just an ignition tool. Short $$$ on ebay... |
