I have a 1992 300TE 4matic with 146000 miles
My dad gave it too me and said that ever since he bought it new it has always used oil. Went on trip and after 450 miles it needed 2 quarts. I had the oil changed at 143000 and prior to the trip the oil was at 3/4 on the dip stick I have looked to see if oil leaking but have not seen anything though I have not searched in detail Is this common for this model or a flaw or do I need to get it looked at by a professional asap-My father always had it serviced at the proper intervals by MB mechanics |

On this engine (M103), valve stem seals are a common source of oil consumption. This would be the best starting point.
