SLS Valve in 190E 2.3-16v defective ???
Just installed new Eibach Pro-Kit Springs! Handling is more controllable. But, my 16v car is so high in the rear that I wonder if my SLS Valve Lever is defective or not ???? I went underneath the car when it was on a flatbed and unhooked the Adjustment Rod from the SLS Valve Lever. Then I moved the Lever in an upward direction, I could feel the rush of Fluid moving inside the Valve, the car rear started getting higher. Then, I started to slowly move the Lever downward in small increments and the car would not move down and there was no noise/feeling of Hydrauic Fluid rushing through the Valve ! What shall I do? Shall I replace the Valve? Help ! I replaced my OEM springs at all 4 corners with Eibach Pro-Kit Lowering Springs and now my car is higher than ever (really ironic) ! Also, should I place 100 kg weight in my trunk before I adjust the SLS Valve Lever? Thank You!

the reason for adding 100kg (220 lbs.) of ballast to the rear of the car before attempting to adjust the SLS is because the system has pressure on the supply side of the valve. ie. the pump is before the valve. As a result, the system will force fluid into the struts, but not out of the struts.
I suspect the speed at which the struts return to their neutral state varies somewhat from car to car. On my 16v, it's noticable while my mechanic's 16v, has to sit for some time (or be driven over speed bumps so that the suspension compresses. Try adding the ballast and seeing how things go.

Which direction to move SLS Valve Lever ?
Which is the correct direction to move SLS Valve Lever to lower the rear ? Does moving the lever up = lowering the rear end ?

The lever is just a piece of metal attached to the valve. it can't really be defective unless it's broken.
The valve, on the other hand, can be easily checked from under the car: if you push it up, the struts should fill with more fluid and the rear of the car should raise up. Alternately, if you push the lever down, the fluid in the struts should release and the back of the car should gradually move back down. If the valve is faulty one or the other or both of these conditions would result in no chance to the ride height of the car.
